I fished limestone creek last week caught lots of stripe/white bass but no crappie. I'm thinking about heading back tomorrow and trying the bridges again. Is it just too hot even under the shade of the bridges for crappie right now? Any other suggestions? I kayak fish so spots way out on main river probably not good options for me.

They are under the bridges I have been fishing, feeding on the minnows when they start their movement going to where ever they stay during the day, they start between 430 am to maybe 5:30 depending on when the minnows show up.

forgot to add they are 3 to 4 ft under the minnows not deep at all
I’m thinking you may be fishing a different limestone from the one I fish in Madison county?

I put in at Mooresville on old hwy 20 by the bridge. I need to find new place to put in there is a huge tree down and couldn't go north to get to the 565 bridges.
Oh ok. I’ve never fished up that direction but have thought about it. I only fish the area in early spring and in fall. But I always fish the other direction toward the bay.

And watch out for the gators. Bigguns in there.

That area is great during the fall and spring, but I don't have much luck this time of year.
