Martin is hard to fish for me.Never fool with it during the summer. The pro here for martin is bama s .He helped me learn to longline over there.I consider it a dangerous washing machine this time of year.

Why do you consider it dangerous? Wind and waves?
Bama s said to fish the river during the summer. Have you longlined in the river? You long line Martin in Sept-May?

Do you have any tips on fishing the river? I’ve really only fished longlining on lakes. Do you recommend always the river or Martin and Jordan in fall-spring?

I am in the woods just east of rockford and mostly fish mitchell and martin.Used to fish the river years back, but can't justify the drive.Lol my opinion is the al river is great if you are into carp fishing.I jug fish blues at mitchell in the summer, stripes and craps in martin winter.Dangerous? ,,big water, drunks ,dummys, etc.Have 3 acre florida, bream backyard here at the house. Large crop failure garden and dove fields to manage so I stay close.martin and mitchell are both 13 miles.

Pleasure boat traffic would be why most would consider Martin dangerous. Pleasure boat wrecked on Logan Martin this week . 2 people were injured.

Dang!! I take it other areas don’t have as many pleasure boaters then? I assume that’s a lot of traffic though…
