Sounds like a bad battery connection. That or update the unit. Mine works perfect, other then when I'm so dumb trying to use it. Then its like me and my smart phone. I'm on the loosing end then.Nice box of fish !

My spot lock will hold me within 2ft of the mark. Also love the jog on mine also.
