A couple of days before Christmas, I paddled down, went through the green stuff, caught a couple and paddled back. I picked up a little Kayak because my Hobie is too heavy to get up and down the obstacle courses before the water and was trying it out.

Cool. Was there any size to the catfish??Ive wondered if there were many in there. Last year at this time I was catching some nice bass but haven’t caught any this time.

The bass were small, but very colorful for this time of year, the catfish were about a pound each. Based on all the limbline hooks hanging, I believe someone thinks some good sized ones are in there.

Yeah the limb lines are what had me curious. Those have been there since I’ve been fishing it. Thought about baiting a few of them when I put in on that side. But don’t want to mess with anyone’s stuff.

JMO, but I would go for it. I would say someone leaving limb lines up 24/7/365 isn't a good practice on public water. Not that big of a deal either, but I'd say if you did happen to run across whoever uses them you can just claim that they have been there so long they appeared abandoned.

I removed some, I'll keep at it until they are gone or I can paddle through there without feeling like I'm in a hellraiser movie. If someone was concerned about their gear, they should have labeled it and not left it for something that doesn't have gills to get caught up in.

Were the hooks still on the lines or did they have clips or loops for taking hooks on and off?

I’ve personally never pulled one up to see.

They have stainless hooks on them. I just cut the hooks off and left the twine.
