Some days are just tough
I gave Madison County Lake a try today since the wind was going to be reasonable. Nothing to report, lake is clear and 54 degrees, but I failed to catch even one Crappie. The fish were deep 18 to 22 feet down, but I couldn't get them to bite. The shad schools were also hugging the bottom with schools in 20 to 25 feet of water, but on the bottom with no space. Not sure what was going on, but still a beautiful day!

It’s amazing to me how you can see them on the bottom like that and not get a bite. Had success one time with a 1/32 on the bottom just dragging it in the mud.

While the wind was calm, I dropped four poles to the bottom, reeled then up about two feet and moved through the schools slowly. I could see the line bouncing as it hit fish (bait or otherwise), and not a bite. As much bait as there in in Madison County Lake, I'm surprised you can fool them with any jig, LOL!
