Thanks for taking us along. I enjoy some of his cooking videos as well. Seems like a great guy
Freelance outdoor journalists don't get as many perks as one might think. But every now and then somebody throws us a bone. I got a REALLY cool bone not long ago when Crappie NOW magazine hosted a Writer's Camp in Wetumpka, Alabama. There I got to spend an afternoon fishing the Alabama River with Duck Dynasty star, John Godwin. Godwin is as real, and as funny, as he was on the popular reality show. But he's also a kick-ass crappie fisherman! Here's a taste of our day, and John's answer to the question, "If you could only do one, would you rather duck hunt or crappie fish?" Cool! He was always one of my favorite guys of the DD show.
He also has an unusual but very tasty recipe for battering crappie before frying. I’ve tried it and can vouch for its deliciousness .
