I got the rare text from my wife around 3:30 today that said, “If you want to, just go fishing after work today while I’m out with the kids”. So I obliged and went to an area I’ve previously found ‘gills bedding this time of year right off the bank, and I must say I was not disappointed. About 6 PM I found some good sized males bedding in about a 50 yard stretch of shallow rip rap. I fished till dark and kept 21 fish total for the freezer, caught probably a limits worth in the 2 hours I fished.

All were caught on GreeneGiant18’s hand tied squirrel tail jig with an orange head about 2 FT under a float today. A few fish came on the jig by itself and the rest with the jig tipped with a Berkley Honey Worm. All in all a beautiful afternoon and fun filled 2 hours of action.
