Default Cotaco Creek, 13 March 2021

Been awhile. Fished from 0600-1000. Water temp was 56-58 degrees. Water was stained with little visibility. Not much current today. Caught at least a limit. Most were 7-8 inches. From 0600-0845ish, the bite was steady but I only caught two keepers. One measured 10" and the other was 12". About 0900, I stumbled on a steady bite of respectable/measurable fish. Largest weighed 1.4lbs. Starting the day, I fished Indian Creek opposite the pier to the mouth and picked up four. All other fish came from Cotaco Creek. I gave a few fish to another boat on Cotaco. All other fish were released. It was a great day on the water!

Did you put in at the ramp at Triana? Just curious how far it is to Cotaco from there and how was it is crossing the river?

Was thinking abt doing this soon. Thx

I put in at Triana. From the mouth of Indian Creek, it is about 1 mile downriver to Cotaco. I live in Madison and it is convenient. I mostly take my 16' war eagle to Cotaco, and have not had a problem crossing the river.

Great to hear. I have been wanting to get back in Cotaco but there is not a dock there and I recently purchased a new boat and don’t really want to drop it off the ramp and then pull up on the rocks to get in. I live in HSV and ditto seems to far.

    Thx
