I live 5 miles from the boat ramp and hardly ever fish it for crappie it's a very deep lake and I really struggle up there. If you like shooting docks their is a ton of them up there and some people do fairly well and around Shoals Creek bridge is a fairly good spot certain times of the year I know a couple of guy's that has caught a few 3 pounders there in the past couple of years. People did do a lot of long lining in Shoals Creek several years ago but I don't see many doing it much anymore I plan on giving it a try later on this spring but I usually fish Pickwick and the BCDA lakes.

I will say that it took my dad and me a good few years to figure out some spots and timing on Wilson Lake. I love it so much. It’s my favorite North Alabama lake to fish outside of the famous Bear Creek.
Went a couple times last week. Found them on structure around 12-15 FOW. Brought home 8 one day and 18 two days later. Only got to fish for 2-3 hours, so we definitely would have had the limit if we had more time!
