rcfillingham,
You're not offending me, too many people in this county have lost the ability to disagree. I always appreciate the discussions on this forum, but I'm responsible to research and make my own decisions. Don't stop on my account!
Not trying to argue, just trying to see the other side, I just don’t see that being against the law as long as the person gifted fish has a license. I might be completely wrong and get a ticket for it one day, which I doubt because I don’t limit on crappie very often. I HAVE been told by the warden that ignorance isn’t an excuse to break the law.... I got a ticket that day lol

I didn’t mean to offend anyone. Just have always been opinionated and can’t help giving mine. Lol. I mean no harm to anyone. Just wish I had the problem of catching a limit and deciding what to do with the rest. Lol

Just a funny. My daddy told me all my life that being so opionated was gonna get my tail kicked one day. Lol. I apologize if I offended any of you guys. In the long run we are all after the same thing. Tight lines to you all.

Always enjoy the discussions and the opportunity to learn here. I caught several Sauger way up the Flint River one day. I don't fish for them, but recognized what they were and that they were good eating. I knew from the forum that they were too short to keep, but doubt I would have ever looked up the information.

How fast are you pulling the baits? I'm usually about 1.2 mph

Usually the slower the better, Saturday when the fishfinder would show movement it was only .1 to .2 miles per hour. Crappie are easy when they're active. Saturday they wanted the bait almost dead still in there face.
I probably won't make it out this weekend (honey do list), but I might return next weekend just trying to figure out how to catch Yellow Perch!
Any pointers from forum members is appreciated, never tried to specifically target them.
my experience with perch is that they are mostly bottom huggers much like sauger.....I catch them at scottsboro when fishing deep for crappie, usually by hanging a minnow or jig just above the bottom which is an effective means of catching crappie that arent really feeding. also get the occasional sauger ....
