The whites tend to stay more in the drop offs where there are some wood/stumps and tree tops cover .Strangely I do not see any whites come from under boat houses and they are all made of wood usually..... The Blacks will be where ever there are weeds/grass and rocks and concrete ,has been my experience with them, but sometimes the black ones will be in a tree top as well . Most bank fishermen only see the blacks because they are jigging around bridge pilings and rip rap . Boater fishin guys will see the most whites . Right now any whites should be suspended around 12 to 15 on areas where the creeks run into the main river channel or hanging around underwater brush and tree tops and maybe a made fish attractor or 2 If you go back in time to the 1950 thru the early 70"s you would not see a Black crappie on the big G People always use to call the White male crappies black crappie because they turn so black when spawning in the spring but they were all whites as they had the long slender shaped body with the thinner shoulders unlike a true black crappie has
Good job, y’all did yourself proud

Good job!
There's never a 100% rule with Crappie, but I have noticed that Whites suspend more and seem to school in larger numbers. Blacks always remind me of bass, grass edges, and lay downs, but typically not in large numbers. One or two in a spot, then move on. Concentrations of baitfish (when you can find them) will always stack the Crappie thick, often with bass, stripe, gills, catfish and everything else.
How were you fishing
Spider rigging of course!
