Gators stop feeding once the temperature gets below 70 degrees, below 55 you can wade around them with out worry.
When the water is 80 and above is when you have to watch out, they feed actively and will come to the boat investigating splashing from a fish (or paddle of in a kayak!).

I was out there myself from 8 till 130 or so....caught a lot of little ones in a gravel pit and a couple of keepers...lost my bite around noon ....

Yes sir. Then I went to arrowhead yesterday and got skunked. Lol. But I sure do love just being out there and trying.
