I've never seen a gator in Swan Creek, not sure why. It should be perfect for them. I've seen them in the slough under the I-65 bridge, north of the river and in both Piney and Limestone Creeks in the northern end of Limestone Bay.
If you want see a couple big ones go into Blackwell Swamp in early spring before the vegetation gets out of control. There's two that are 8 1/2 to 9 feet. The big female is normally watching a nest in the south end near where the creek that drains the swamp is located. She gets upset if your within a 150 feet of the nest hissing and slashing water with her tail.
