I've never fished the flint, but have always seen the ramp on Hobbs Island Rd. Is it any good? Any ramps further up river?

I love fishing the Flint in late summer and fall, but I usually wait till the water is down. I usually put in at Hobbs Island and paddle up stream and do well for both Crappie and large gills. The last couple years we haven't had much of a fall and the water has been up making a paddle up stream a little too much for me.
Take Hobbs island rd to a right hand turn onto Clouds Cove rd. Go a couple miles and you can launch straight into river!

mighty LIKED above post
x2 on what rcfillingham said. Thats where I used to launch my flatbottom all of the time. Just dont take a full size bass boat at those ramps. Its a gravel/dirt road off of Clouds Cove rd that goes into the woods.
You are a couple miles from where Flint meets TN river, or paddle up stream. Good year-round fishing. Really fun in fall and winter.
I’ve taken grandson bank fishing for Cats this time of year there and had enough action to keep him happy. Across river from launch also good squirrel hunting!

You can also launch a small flat bottom or kayak at the Hobbs Island bridge! Locals call it Burr Hollow!

Canoed back down to river from Old Big Cove Rd with a group of buddies 2 summers ago! Some shallow areas around Russel Island but not bad!
