Default Kayak Trip Report, Swan Creek WMA

I fished Swan Creek from 9AM till about 3PM. Wind and rain made it difficulted to fish, only managed 3 Crappie. Kept half a limit of big gills and Shellcrackers for dinner. Swan Creek is still at winter levels from all the rain meaning to much water and cover. I caught many small bass including 5 that were around 2 pounds and one that was near 6 pounds. Fun on 4 pound line and a 1/32oz jig.

Wished we could get to normal water levels and light winds for a weekend!

FYI, here are the cheap 1/32 oz jig heads I use with my 1" sliders.

FYI, returned to Swan Creek Tuesday after work. I kept another 23 large gills and returned about 20 Shellcrackers that were big enough to keep. Mix of 1" slider and some red worms. Most of the bigger fish and half the Shellcrackers cam off the slider. It seemed the worms just brought a lot of dinks.
