Are you talking about just a place to live or are you going to be running a guide service?

That's a loaded question. Most of the lakes are great. Depending on the time of year, do you want numbers or size depends on how you like to fish to. Some lakes are great for docks some spider rigging some long lining. Some are good at all of the above. If you like shooting docks don't go to guntervill or Martin. If you after slabs go to guntervill or Miller's ferry but you're not going to catch big numbers like Martin or Harris. I could go on and on , need a little more information

If I had to pick it would be by river. The coosa river has the best of both worlds of the places I've fished. It has good numbers and some big fish. Now it has bad years form lake to lake but it's hard to beat. (Weiss, Neely Henry and Logan Martin)

Enid is a different smoke than most Alabama lakes. As glen said the Coosa chain would be the closest to it. Guided will be four times harder over here. If your running a guide service stay put. Lot easier over in sippi

Maybe Florence or Sheffield. Pickwick, Wilson, Wheeler, the core lakes in Cherokee. And a very short drive to the big 4 in Mississippi.
