When did they close the Duck River? Thanks for posting you might have saved someone a drive for nothing.

I saw on their fb page a few weeks ago. There is a leak in the dam they are fixing. It’s bank fishing only. I’d planned on going some while off for the holidays. I messaged them last week and they said they didn’t have a reopen date right now.

You should ask if the boat ramps are closed or if can you still launch a kayak?

They said no vessels of any kind on the lake. Bank fishing only. I really don’t understand why.

I'm not sure how low it is, but the one time I went there was standing timber in 30 foot of water on my fish finder in the neck I fished. I'd love to get in there with the lake low. Maybe get a week of two after they open it before it refills?

If I hear they are gonna open it I’ll let you know. I’d like to learn it better because it’s close for me. I did so good from the bank last spring I never took my kayak.

I made one trip in the spring, post spawn which should be hard fishing. Got an easy limit single pole. I've been meaning to return, but there's so many good fishing areas in North Alabama!

Rode everywhere after I got off work today. It’s all flooded. Tried catfishing beaver dam with no luck.
