I found some fish today in a spot that I found fish last winter that would only bite in nasty cold, windy weather. I tried them today, even though it wasn't cold. It was dang sure windy....

On the 4th or 5th cast, I caught one. The next cast, I got a bite and broke off on the hook set. I was trying to hurry and re-tie and grabbed the same size, but different color jig head thinking it wouldn't matter. Apparently it did. I made about 10 casts with the other colored head and didn't get a bite. I swapped back to an unpainted head and caught one more fish about 30 minutes later. That was it. The fish were there, I just couldn't get them to bite.

I was having to fish downwind. There was a huge bow in my line and I watched it as best I could to see if I could see a bite, but I didn't.

With the info I gave, what would you guys done different? I wish I had some minnows with me.

The water was so rough that I didn't even get in my seat on the front deck. I sat on the deck and fished. LOL
