I think the minnow swimming around contributes to getting hung up.
When minnow fishing in thick laydowns does hook size matter. Will smaller hooks 4 or 6 help with getting hung so much. I know lots of folks fish laydowns with a lot of different opions and that is what i want. Thanks

The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
I know it makes a difference on jigs but minnows will probably get you hung regardless.

Do you use wire hooks?

Livescope Terrova 24v Ionic lithium batteries
Increase your line test and bend the hooks loose.

I make all my hooks weed less, it is very easy.
I went to 15lb high vis braid with 8lb high vis leader and #2 lightwire hook and I don't break nearly as many. I have a swivel with quick change so when I do break the 8lb it is quick to fix back. I usually make up 50 or so extra (hook-line-swivel) so I can take one off and put one on with no retie on the boat.
Can we see a few of your weedless hooks? Do you notice any missed hook ups because of the weed guard.

Damion Kidd LIKED above post
I use a #2 lite wire hook and to keep the minnow from swimming I put my shot closer so it has to pull it to swim and that seems to help
