We’re heading down tonight. I’ll let you know how we do. There is a bit of a cold front coming in Sunday, not sure if that will affect them much or not. It’s supposed to be warmer next weekend and they should be getting ready. We’ll be trolling.
Me and my dad are heading to Weiss next week sometime next week sometime for our first trip there is several years. He is in his 70's and this is the first spring in a while he has felt up to it. We could either fish Tues-Thurs or next weekend Sat.-Mon. With the spawn being close do you goes have an opinion on on whether we should come early next week or wait a couple days. How should i start looking for them, casting banks, trolling, spider rigging etc. Any and all advice will be appreciated. We have had some of our greatest fishing memories on that lake.... but we have had some tough ones too.

Later in the week. Cold front moving through Sunday. Low temps and windy Monday and tue. I would start trolling in bays and creeks. Then you might want to try casting around banks and such.

I don't know about Weiss but most lakes in this area have some fish up spawning a d some out deep. I would guess all tactics will work but be ready to adjust to conditions.

We fished the last two days and caught fish in Little River early and then it dries up. Went to Big Spring creek and Mud Creek also and caught a few fish. They’re not close to spawning yet, but they’re getting there. Next two weeks should be really good after this cold front!
