2016 Lowe st 175 merc 60 4 stroke, helix 9 si / helix 9, terrova us2 with link, drift master rod holders . I fish because the voices in my tackle box tell me to, and who am i to argue
I appreciate it Cowboy, any help would be much appreciated. Yesterday, water temps in the mouths of the creeks was 54-57 degrees and towards the backs it was 58-60. The bait was suspended 6 ft deep over 15 fow around the first major dropoffs adjacent from the flats (most were near the mouths). Spent a couple hours spider trolling these areas and some flats. I also did some longlining through the creek channels and caught several white bass, drum, and bass, but no crappie. I don't think I have caught a crappie in wheeler since before the flooding, now it's personal haha
I haven't been able to catch them over there either. New to fishing Wheeler so maybe not surprising. Will let you know if I stumble on em!

My 2 cents, wait for the weekend. Males should be looking for bedding areas in the afternoons, females will start to gather on the first drop. The stump fields in Limestone should be getting about right. I think the high water has scattered the fish, but warming temps and clearing and falling water should get them thinking about the spawn finally. I'll probably be spider rigging the pits in the North end of Limestone Saturday.

The fish are their ! They just huugging the bottom we have had a couple high pressure days plus all the xtra water! Some Females are ready to bust and the males are starting to get their war colors on! Stay after them they will cooperate very soon!
It may be hard to believe but the lower end of wheeler the water is very low. Lucys branch and elk river the creeks running it elk are all lower then normal for this time of year. Ran in to catchNgrease today he was very surprised how low it if. He said he fished limestone creek area this weekend it was full. Most of the boat houses have very little water under them. Fishing today was bad. Called the tva number and the water at the dam was 551.6 winter level........
Back waters is the key now. Other than that edge of creeks . No were near current. That’s been my formula.
The truth is hard to accept, so is life .
Water was a good 5 degrees cooler in Anderson than in Arrowhead also. agruss I sent you a PM and thanks for the hospitality.
