Looks like they could let some water through and not have flooded Weiss completely. Here is a Pic at the Alabama Belle this morning Name: imagejpeg_0.jpeg

I totally agree Ridgerunner. Just checked Ala Powers lake levels on the coosa river system. Lake Weiss and Logan Martin
show major flooding. The other lakes are not at full pool levels per their data. Logan Martin is 5.5 feet below summer pool.
Coach, the flood of 2015 and a heart problem made me sale my place at Cedar Bluff but most property owners around lake
Weiss know of the “deal” between Ala Power and Gadston on not fooding the mall! What a travesty!

It may not get back to normal until after the spawn if there is a spawn this year... I remember this happening a few years ago and it flat out messed crappie fishing up for a good 3 or 4 months... Alabama Power and TVA kept messing with the water levels all over Alabama... Killed the Fishing...

I dont know where you are getting your information from, but Logan Martin is almost 4 feet over flood pool and 6 feet over summer pool. Their pulling water just as fast as they can. Water so high on Lay lake, it's almost over the 280 bridge. The problem lies between Ohatchee and Gadsden. The way the river runs, water won't move as fast, so one end is low and the other is high.

What he said, Minnesota bend is a the problem. They cut a canal to help but it's filed in now.

I understand that the river adds to the problem but Weiss is not usually this flooded. We have had tons of rainfall this past week that's plain to see but in the past decade we have seen periods of substantial rain and they seem to have kept the water down then

I think the last 3 months it's rained more than it hasn't. The rain we're getting now isn't soaking in to the ground. Nothing but runoff.

You have got to remember that we have has as much rainfall since November as the almost the whole year. Glenn is so right about the river at Gadsden holding back the water. I have put my boat in at Greensport, and Gadsden would be flooded. That is just the way it is. No easy solution I think Alabama Power is doing the best that it can.

And I just saw on the news 1 to 2 more inches this weekend. I guess this summer we'll wonder were the rain went.
