Tough competition!!!!!
I think I have secured the "Smallest fish ever caught on a hook" title. I did foul hook it so it may not qualify as a record. I've never seen so many thread fin shad. I don't know if these clouds are thread fin's or not, but I do know that I shot this jig under a dock and reeled in a thread fin, hooked under the gill plate. If these are all shad, I don't know why a fish would be hungry enough to bite a jig. These "clouds" were 100's and 100's of yards long and wide. I don't know how wide but I could troll 20 yards either direction and not ever get out of them. If I had a cast net I would know what was down there. I may borrow one and go back tomorrow afternoon to see what they are.

Yep all bait fish. Hard to catch when it’s that much food for them.

Phillip anybody can catch a big fish, it takes a whole lot of skill to catch one as small as the one I caught.

Fur, sometimes its hard to compete with the real thing. I believe sometimes there can be too much bait. If somebody gives you a rubber chicken and you have fifty perfectly cooked rib eyes right in front of you which are you going to choose. Don't answer that . Forgot you are an Aubarn fan.
Looks like a bunch of baitfish for sure. By the way WarEagle!
Life is good. Fishing is better.
I couldn't catch anything under the bridge Saturday so I started ripping my jig through balls of those threadfins and foul hooked em. As soon as I got em in I would unhook them and throw them on a live bait rig with a slipfloat set at 8ft. I pulled in a few very nice ones that way! Its just hard to convince them to bite a plastic when there is so much live bait in the area.
Lot of bait for sure, but in that school they are safe. One jig by itself will get some attention if they're not in a funk. Them war kittens don't get anything to be ashamed of. This is a once in a lifetime team for bama. They done good just making it a game till halftime
