The wife and I are headed to Weiss the last week of October for our 30th anniversary and have a cabin rented just south of hog island on a creek or slough where county rd. 63 crosses. Any suggestions for a good map I can study before I go and areas to fish would be appreciated. I mainly long line but was told spider rigging or dock shooting may be good in late October. I have only shot docks once without much success but that would be a blast. By the way I have a pretty good wife to plan anniversary trips so I can fish.

Every day is a holiday and every meal is a picnic.
Dock should be on fire by then if the heat ever goes away. There's some other lake close by to (Neely Henry and guntersvill ) just a short drive from Weiss if things aren't going well

You should be able to catch them on ledges spider rigging, Long lining or Dock shooting. Great time of the year to fish Weiss. Note of caution water levels will be dropping so running some areas may be treacherous. You can get a lake map at Coosa corner or wall mart in centre. P.M me or Crappieflopper before you come and we will try to help you.
I do a lot of prefishing using Navionics web app with terrain feature on. You can travel the nation's rivers from your laptop.

Also with an app like "fishing points" or "fishsmart" you can drop pins or save waypoints from your phone of points of interest to go to when you get there
