Me and a few of my buddies went saturday we only caught maybe 10 the crappies are not biteing like they were like 4 weeks ago only thing we saw were gars everywhere we usually catch a ton of white bass didn't catch a single 1 for the first time in months.
We were in 2 boats searching for them we tried tc and short creek polecat and 3 others spots..I fish guntersville like every other week and one of my buddy he bank fishes there every week and he usually catches a mess of them but he says itz getting worst and worst every week the water level is pretty High
I have a friend who fishes there every week also. He says around noon they turn on off the banks. 1st question is how long did you stay at these spots? I can go to TC and within 30 minutes have at least 3. Just have to fish deeper. They are in there. Were you using jigs/minnows? How deep? What colors? I mean, it could be anything brother. Right now the best time for ME is right at first light. I won't get 30 but if I take home 5 I'm happy. What time did you all fish?
I might try a different spot Saturday. Town Creek and the "norms" are pretty much fished out to me. Town Creek will be on fire again in November.
We fish from midnight to 10 am we only use jigs out of the 6 of us we threw over 30 different color 10 to 20 feet bobby garland and slab tail were fished.. We fished most spots for 2 hours and little longer at our honey hole.. Most spots we would fish I would catch the first fish less then 5 mins then nuttin elese..
Always take minnows. I usually tight line minnow while jigging. I usually catch my Crappie jigging at first light though. Sometimes I just drop a jig down and don't move it and get hit. That sucks man. I hate those trips. Some days they just shut down. I saw Richard went from the bank recently to two of my spots and tore em up. I may try those. Supposed to storm this weekend ... again ... so tired of this random weather.
