Loaded up with Mitch yesterday for a hunting trip. We wanted to hunt some new crappie hideouts. We met for a very tasty breakfast at the South Sauty Creek store and cafe then fished til around 2:30. We caught several green carp and a decent mess of crappie. I iced the fish down heavily and cleaned them this afternoon. The largest of the fish were White females and they had engourged blood vessels surround the eggs. One large Black had eggs in her and her tail was bloody. Most fish were caught on humps/structure, during the hottest part of the day. Mitchell can confirm since he was the captain but I believe the humps were in 12-14 FOW. As always, I enjoyed his company and enjoyed spending the day on the water with a good un.

He did get a picture of me fighting a fish for a snack

Those cranks taste good but they got a bite to them. Glad y'all got a few. I've been wanting to go look around up there to. Y'all pull cranks?

Well, come on and we'll go. Don't pull your boat, we'll go in mine.

Mitch pushed cranks for a while and pulled jigs at the same time. I'll let him tell you how he liked that.

My favorite part of the day is when Mitch got hung on something and said, "I've got out one million, five thousand feet of line" I laughed at that the rest of the day and I'm still laughing about it right now. I think I was about to have a heat stroke about the time he said that.

One thing I found out real quick it’s hard to push and pull cranks at the same time you are pushing and pulling jigs in unknown waters lol but we caught More fish than we did brush piles so I guess we did ok!
