    It will be once the water temp goes above 80°,closer to 85 . on average it usually is the last week of June to the first week of July. It can be lots earlier if the weather gets hot quicker than it should. Years ago the Browns creek causeway /bridge area would slime your windshield with them but they for some reason have all but left that area , with only a few seen under the bridge.

    I can remember when that happened,it was some of the best fly rodding around.

    late June for sure. 4th of July has always been peak hatch.....

    Something hatched this week because I'm still digging bug wings out of my eyes from running back after dark the other night. Whatever they were, they were fat and juicy.

    They felt like they were about the size of dragonflies. We've had so much rain there'll be mosquitos out til Christmas.

    Don't know why they call them Mayflies, I've never seen any till mid summer
