    Default Crappie anyone?

I'm really new to fresh water fishing. I've fished the marsh in southeast Louisiana most of my life... Now being retired, and living in Madison, Al. I'm really enjoying the water around here. Bought a fishing kayak and trying to catch sac a lait. I've been hitting the Indian River in Triana. Not doing too well. Throwing all plastic, no bait yet. Any suggestions?

Indian Creek is not a bad place to fish, from what little I know. Hit the tree tops and move fairly fast if you catch one try the same area again. You may still find a few up shallow bedding. I would pull up to a tree top and start out deep and work in. I would let my jig drop to the bottom and watch for bites on the way down. If no bites on the way down work it up slowly and pay attention to the depth when you do catch one. Good luck. I am just over in Decatur, I would not mind trying Indian again soon.

Welcome to North Alabama and to our board. Like prowler said, lots of good folks on here willing to help you out. My crappie fishing is over for a while and I,m preparing to head to your neck of the woods speckled trout fishing. That is my favorite fishing anywhere. Would have taken a lot to get me to move away from the La. gulf.

Welcome to the board!! The local Madison crappie slayer from a yak is DitchBasser. You should shoot him a PM, he likes to share info with fellow yakkers! Lots of good water around. Madison County lake is pretty user friendly too for yaks.
