Default Kayak Trip Report, Limestone Bay

I fished the North end of Limestone Bay today from 9AM till about 3PM. The wind was brutal, but I found plenty of willing fish. Best bait was a 1/16oz Marabou jig in Chartreuse. I spent the day spider rigging four poles in two to four feet of water. The water was 52 degrees with visibility of about 12 inches.

The fish are shallow, but scattered not on beds. 50/50 males to females. The females are loaded with eggs, but there not grainy or bloody. Best guess we'll need 10 days, maybe a couple weeks of warm weather before most fish spawn.

I kept a limit and left them baiting, including returning 6 that were between 14 and 16 inches.

Great job as usual Ditch. Do you put in off of east road ( 17 ) or on the road that goes back to the boat ramp at arrow head ? Hope to get over there and try some of the skinny water out soon. I have always just fished the open bay area and never way up in the creeks. Thanks for sharing
