    Default Opinions please

Looking at this boat. I've fished and hunted from a Fisher 18 foot for the last 14 years. Looked at new motor last week and one thing led to another, wife saw this, looked at some numbers, and a new boat just made for a better deal money wise. Never had a g3 boat. This one had the motor I was looking at, no carpet, and camo.

After looking around the web, seems there were problems with g3 boats back in 2003 to 2006 period. Any problems anybody know about?

All aluminum, lifetime warranty on hull and motor upgrades to a 5 year warranty no charge.

    Thoughts?

Don't know of any issues with g3 boats that other aluminum boats don't have. If it's what you looking for go far it. All aluminum boats can crack and have issues not sure if one brand is and better that the rest. If fished out of all kinds and it comes down to what you planning on doing with it .

I have an Eagle 180 and love it. It fishes great, just would like a wider beam, and they have taken care of that in the newer models.

The Fisher I have now has been tough as nails. No leaks and it's been in some pretty bad places. Not only do I fish out of it, I duck hunt also. In fact, if Fisher was still in business, that's what I'd buy.

Although this boat is a foot shorter, it feels twice as wide. The beam on my Fisher was 64 inches where this one is 92. Heck the bottom of the g3 is about the same size as the top of my boat.

I'm a no frills kind of guy so I don't need a fancy boat. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I just can't see putting a $40,000.00 boat in some of the places I hunt. I just need the best of both worlds.

I am going to buy some nice rod holders for spider rigging though. My homemade pvc ones just won't look right.

I fished and hunted out of an 1860 g3 for years.
Never an issue with motor or hull.
    Loved the boat.

Nice boat, if I was hunting a new one I believe that one would fit the bill.

Thanks guys. Since I've heard of no problems, I'm going today to hammer out the details. One thing I want to do is change trolling motor to a 12/24 volt one. Would love to have an I-pilot, but that's not gonna happen. Just wanna get in line so that I may have it by middle of next week.

Now to get mine unloaded and cleaned up.
