Pretty sure you just described the term scattered fish. That's why spiderriging, pushing jigs and long lining was born.

So did you guys get to go fishing? I started to go, but some people were still saying that Lake Guntersville was still low and that wind sitting under a bridge with 32 degree weather .... not for me. I'm going to wait for it to warm up a bit. My buddy told me he caught almost 10 within a few hours on a drop off of a creek channel in about 12ft of water. Someone else told me they caught a few in 6ft of water off the bank. I don't know where to look! I'm thinking about going in the am to a local spot to try em out. The spot is only 8ft deep, but about 10 yards out from the spot is a creek channel in about 12 ft. Seems certain days they are shallow, certain days they are deep. This weather wild. With this rain moving in, it should stir em up a bit. What do you guys think?

Always having to search, search, search. That is one of the best parts of fishing.
Crappie were scattered over the grass 4 to 6ft deep. WE had 14 nice nice ones from 2 p.m to dark. Some were caught jig under cork and minnows caught the most. This was Wendsday.

mid to late day over shallow flats is a good place to start....the sun on the water warms those areas a couple degrees and that can turn on a mid day feed when water temps are low like they have been lately.
