    Default Fishing 1/13/17

If you are, you've lost your mind! Good night it's cold out there with the wind blowing. Gonna go to the shop, turn on the torpedo heater, finish removing the console in my boat and rip the carpet out of it.

I'm going bank fishing tomorrow afternoon. Supposed to be above freezing by then. May not be able to stay long but hope to catch a couple.

I’ve had my old boat on Craigslist since early to mid December and out of the blue a guy from Savannah, Tennessee texted me about it this morning. I ended up meeting him in Decatur to check out the boat. He and I wanted to just back it down the ramp and crank it so that’s what we did. Then his 16 year old son decided he wants to take the boat for a drive. I told him he wasn’t driving it but if he wanted to ride, we’d go up the river. I had no gloves, no sunglasses and only had a light weight jacket on. We got about 1/10th of a mile up the river and my hands were numb and the water in my eyes felt like it was frozen. I announced that the boat ride was over and headed back to the ramp. LOL They did end up buying the boat so it was all good in the end.

So I ended up on the water but didn’t fish. Glad it was a short trip

I don't think his excitement outweighed my frozen eyeballs. LOL At least I freed up some money to buy me one of those fancy trolling motors! About to get to work on the boat in earnest starting next week. I want it ready by 2/1 and I'm gonna have to hump it to get it finished by then. It'll soon be ready for you to ride in!

I just left the AL Cattlemens annual banquet at the rec center in Guntersville. The wind coming across Browns creek was painful. Bundle up extra for your fishing trip.

Yeah, that wind yesterday wasn't tolerable. It's a lot better today so I'll see in a little while how much I can stand.
