    So so we caught about forty. I caught 12-15 of em. Using an ultra lite. I usually use a stiffer rod could not get a good hook set. I had twenty fish I hooked get off.

    I use nothing but UL rods and have no problems hooking fish and keeping them on.

    Medium for crappie is overkill, IMO. I don't even use medium rods for bass.

    My bad. Shoulda read med light. I use a rod with backbone all the action is in last 1/3 of rod.

    Oh my pardnr only fishes ultra light and he was smoking them today.

    Guess it's what your use to. I ordered two the other week and they come in ultra lite. I have since sold and reordered them. I was borrowing the ultra light today. Will not fish with one again. But that's just my preference.

    If you ever read the Bream forum, several members (LedHed, Alphahawk, prankster) catch some nice fish on UL rods. I have caught bass and carp up to 7# and lots of 8-10# cats on my UL rods.
