Default Lake Guntersville 12/9 heads up

Just an FYI, according to a source in the know, there is a Bass tourbament blasting off at the State Park tomorrow. Supposed to be/predicted to be 350 boats in it. Weather may have knocked that back significantly, I don't know. It's the state High School championship tourney or something of the sort. Between them and the duck hunters, you might be able to walk across the river on boat decks tomorrow.

When I came through Guntersville earlier, there were bass boats with teenagers in the everywhere. Mitch, I wondered if any of them were brave/crazy enough to run up to Scottsboro.

I have about decided that if I'm gonna fish in the winter, I'm getting a motorcycle helmet to wear when I'm running in the boat. Danged if I can handle all that snot and eye water running back on my face. LOL

I don't know if they make a helmet big enough to fit my gourd, but I think I'm gonna check and see!

The wife and I have used helmets for several years in the winter and they make a big difference. We do not fasten the chin strap in case we were thrown in the water the helmet would come off more quickly.

My son was in the tournament. I was his boat captain. There were 305 HS teams registered and about 220 that took off Saturday morning.
The guy that said some of these kids are hard core is right. Hardly any teams came in early. We took off in flights and had staggered check in times.
My son and his partner had me on the water Friday practicing during all that snow. And we weren't the only ones. We had to use the dryer at the hotel to dry our clothes for the next morning.
