I wouldn’t call too much lunch meat on pics like this. They grow big down here, and there are some fishermen that have a knack for finding them often!

I would like to see that crappie hanging from a scale with the readout visible.
How tall is a 5 gallon bucket anyway?

For what its worth, someone shared the original FB post with me. The crappie is supposed to have come out of Lake Henderson in LA
Just seen where eminart posted 14.5" for the bucket. That would likely put that fish 15.5 to 16.5" range. Very possible that's a 2.5-3 pound crappie if I had to guess.

Just what I have found and my word of mouth around the area leads me to believe is true. He’s a great fisherman and can catch em for sure

Yeah, it's very big crappie, but I think the bucket makes us think it's bigger than it really is. The biggest crappie I caught this fall so far was 15 3/4" which is big (well over 2lbs) but nothing that isn't posted here often. And that's longer than a typical bucket. I'll bet you're right, and that fish is 16"+ and pushing 3lbs.
Slabprowler and cowboy had a limit that size the other day
A MS angler actually caught that fish, pic has been all over the place, it was caught on May 5th, 2017 and weighed 3.04 lb male fish, yes a male. the angler that caught it is as straight forward as they come so I have no doubt about the weight.
