Was supposed to take my fiancé fishing today.i ended up having to work and things happened that allowed me to get off early.she had already made other plans but told me to go ahead.i decided to try a spot on wheeler i hadnt fished in over a year.threw every bg i had for about an hour.caught a 5ld channel cat and a nice stripe on minnows.put on a black and chartreuse slider and caught 3 pretty quick then nothing again. I was about to leave when i noticed something chasing shad out farther.i put on a weghted float so i could get out there thought i might catch a stripe or small bass.6 cast 5 crappie.all that i caught were right at 10 in.i know thats nothing for you guys but ive fished my rear off for over a year with not much success.so i was happy. Lol. Pretty sure i could have caught more but cant miss a bama game.ill try to post some pics later if i can figure out how.

Way to go Damion, congrats. I got up at 3:45, rode across the lake, fished for 5 1/2 hours and caught one bluegill, so you smoked me.

Sounds to me like that was a very successful trip. You noticed something on the water changed tactics and hammered it! That's a successful trip in my book. You'll forever remember what that looked like and how the crappie reacted when you changed up on them. That technique is a great fish catcher for sure. WTG
