Hello everyone! I'm back again to share my second trip out with a great friend of mine on some early Fall hunting.
First off, I would like to give Thanks to GOD above for allowing me to go out, have the ability to fish, be safe, gift me some fish and providing great weather.
Secondly, I would like to give Thanks to my great friend, my best bud, for taking me on this adventure. I am so blessed to have met him and call him my friend.
Now, on to the story that you've been waiting to read ...
This is an over night adventure.
Temp: Low 62
Wind: 6 mph with a gust of up to 9 mph
Time Frame: 2:00 AM - 11:30 AM
Water Depth: 30 ft.
We got to our spot around 2:15 AM (I'm guessing here), and got set up to do a little tight lining. I set my glow sticks up on my poles and I even rigged up a slip cork just for kicks (set at 10 ft also). We were using a flood lamp w/white bulb, pointing to the water in between us, oh and get this ... we were playing music!! It works!! We were seeing fish at about 12-15 ft, some at 20 ft. I was fishing no shallower than 10 ft with my minnow. Every 15 minutes I would drop another foot, but never went deeper than 15 ft. So in between 10-15 ft all night. I caught maybe 2-3 off minnows. Check this out ...
I will provide the video to you all after I get done sharing this info with you, but Trust Me when I say ... Try This!!
I tied 3 jigs (that's right 3!) onto my 10 ft Ozark Jigging rod. Tied them with loop knots and set at 12" apart. All bobby garland and all different colors, but ALL jig heads were 1/16. One pink, one chart, one black. The majority of the fish wanted Twilight or Mayfly. I set it to exactly 10 ft and just held it and kept the baits still in the water, twitching about every 10 seconds. I caught 7 within a short time period! Lost a BIG one trying to lift her in the boat. Lesson learned. I did not use any scents or Nibbles. I will Always use this from now on!
Here is the video .. God Bless him. I love the older wise folks.
We also trolled Cranks, but I got hung so I took a little Crappie Nappie while my buddy trolled.
Here are the results:
Enjoy Your Day Folks and Be Safe!
God Bless.

Ive been buying the glow bracelets like that for years, I sometimes catch them on clearance for 50 cents a pack, sometimes 99 cents at wal mart. I usually use small zip ties that I have laying around. They have worked well for me over the years. I also use them in the tops of floaters. I either pull the stick out of the top and place those in the hole, and sometimes the long tube light sticks i just slip one in the top for those long distance casts. It sure beats paying 4 dollars for 2 or 3 1 or 2 inch glow sticks in the fishing section.
