I have a B&M sharp shooter and I don’t like mine at all.

I use cheep black max for shooting but I use 2 lb line on them , the pole is a browning feather light 5 foot, nothing special. I use 4 lb line on cheap $20 reels , can’t remember, the pole is a academy $20 special 6 foot. I’ve been know to not have a shooting pole in my boat every once in awhile and have used my 9 foot trolling rod to shoot, give me a couple shots and I can adapt. The jig heads I agree on using smaller hooks to keep from getting hung as much. I use 6 on my 1/32 hand ties and size 4 on my 1/24 hand ties and 1/32 on plastic in size 2 hooks, all sickle hooks.

Love, what more can I say
mighty thanked you for this post
Really depends on how you shoot. If you skip you want a softer tip. If you shoot it like a bow you're probably looking for something middle of the road. If you shoot like me I like 5'6 medium action but a stiffer medium, like 80% backbone 20%tip.
