Default Kayak trip report swan Creek WMA

I got up late and made a short trip out to Swan Creek WMA hunting some bream. I caught a bunch of bream but most of them were small. I did catch 4 nice bream and 1 real bull. However I did catch my limit of bass most in the 2 lb range but one over 3 lbs and 3 pretty nice crappie. Most of the fish were caught on a beetle spin with a Cream brand white curly tail grub. The others were caught on a 1/32 oz jig head and BG Blue Ice. If I missed fish on the Beetle Spin I would follow up with the 1/32 oz jig fished slower and a lot of times catch the fish. Using UL equipment with 4 and 6 lb test line catching this size fish is a lot of fun. A lot of the water was real clear this morning, and the key to catching fish seemed to be finding water with some color. All fish were immediately released after being caught.

Always amazes me how many fish there are in Swan Creek considering it's only a couple feet deep most of the summer. Great report, thanks for sharing.
