Ditch are you launching at the spring and fishing toward the dam or over by Saganaw?? We have been going in at the Spring although they have stopped us from parking at the normal place and added some more walking time to launch there. It seems the fish stay tight to the pads and cover in the brighter part of the day but when the sun gets low to the horizon they come out to the edges of the grass or weeds. If it is a very cloudy day they seem to be ready to bite like its late evening .I wonder if it is because the water is so clear? We are mainly using crickets but will throw the tiny spinner at times. Course this limits the time you can spend there as we don't want to be there when it gets too dark given the cotton mouths we have seen there!! Also are you catching the crappie in there tight to the cover?? We never scratch with them there but catch quite a few at White lily.
The last trip I put in where the duck hunters launch in the fall in the main swan creek.
I think it all holds good fish, the challenge is always getting them to bite without spooking them when your in 18 inches of water. Even with the sun directly overhead you can catch plenty dropping small jigs into the holes in the Lilly pads.
