You will hear that nothing matters. Not jig or head color or body style or nibble or scent attractants.
But you won't hear it from me.
For me...fishing year round in all types of conditions and depths and water colors and casting and long poleing and under a bobber etc....
I would rather have the jig body color and style that I want and a plain lead head...than a painted head with a jig body I did not want.
The color of lead very closely matches a shade of grey on a lot of baitfish as it fades from the back to the belly.
I like a couple black dot eyes on my heads but I don't often take the time to paint them on.
I greatly admire the guys who say all they have to do is get it in front of one and they will bite it. I wanted to be one of those guys but it didn't work out and I swear I tried.
