Sounds like a fun day outdoors
Got out on Neely Henry again with my dad both days. 3-17 we turkey hunted till 9 but they weren't cooperating so we hooked up and headed to river. Wind was pretty bad and we started around piers in the Lakeshore area caught 4 shooting/minnowing around piers and trees. Went to shoal creek to do the same thing and someone was on the dock we were headed to, decided to troll a little and glad I did. We were long lining 1/24ths in 8ft or less. Best color seemed to be blue/chart. Ended the day with 26 keepers and several shorts. Went back Monday 3-20, and I tried the Bridge Creek area with a little success waiting on my dad to get to the ramp. We headed to shoal and found them again, but this time more shallow, still trolling 1/24s in 6ft or less with dark blue/chart and black chart being the winners. Ended up with 33 crappie and 3 spots. Saw several folks on the banks catching them on corks and jigs as well. Seems like they are in all stages. Hope to head back Friday afternoon to jerk a few more lips.

Sounds like you found the right spot with the right bait. Congrats on the catch.
