    Default Longtime lurker

Just wanted to say hello, been a lurker for a few years now. I've been chasing slabs around the G since I can remember and I ran into this site one day and decided to stick around to see what was discussed. Seems like there are some nice guys around here and most importantly there are people here that realize crappie are a finite resource and are interested in conservation. As I've gotten older now (which admittedly isn't very old) I've begun to let more and more fish go, especially of the larger nature, and I get almost as much satisfaction out of seeing a giant swim off as I do seeing a 10 incher hit the grease. With that being said, I like to keep a mess as much as the next guy. I just appreciate people that appreciate the resource. I felt like I should say this because, being the bridge crawler that I am, I have seen a lot of people that are not so respectful of said resource. So thank all of you that do practice some conservation and apologies for the long first post. Best of luck to anyone getting out soon and put some of the big pregnant girls back if you can. Til next time...

Welcome Slabber, a great group of guys here for sure. Most will help you with without a bat of an eye. Conservation is a very important part of being a sportsman of any kind whether your fishing or hunting. If we take care of our resources they will care of us.

Welcome aboard! Looking for future reports from ya! Glad to hear others putting back. I love to eat em too just as much as anyone else .but it sure is a great feeling to turn them big uns loose for the next time. I don't fish the bridges any more because of the things I have seen and heard.

SP, the bridges can be bad, especially off the bank. The majority of the people are decent guys but the bad kinda ruin it for everyone

Yes that's very true .they are some great folks that fish the bridges. But I have decided since I have a boat and we have so much water that I'm getting out and finding other fish .i fish mostly for pleasure of being outdoors and I enjoy trying different techniques and places.

Thanks roger, and yes SP there are better options than the bank with a boat for sure. What's most people's favorite way to chase em on here? Spider rigging?
