I was checked in the CACC tournament on Martin. They were nice enough; just checked our license and registration and didn't bother looking in the livewell.

Wife and I got checked at the boat ramp a few weeks ago. He was very pleasant and only checked our licenses. Live well was empty anyway since the wind blew me off the water.

It always seems that the legal people are the ones that get checked and they are never around when you see things going on that would get a person a citation. Here on the big G the new way of poaching crappie is to use a type of treble hook that has a chrome coated weight around the shaft between the hook eye and the hooks .They snag fish it unless they see the man then they try to fish it like a spoon or just let it go to the bottom. A lot of the fish I catch around the bridges now have deep scratches on their sides and bellies where they have been hit by this "lure". The short Game warden I talked to about this type of fishing said he would write them up if he"saw "them snatching when using that or any type of heavy treble hook lure. I told him he wouldn't have to look very hard if he showed up in plain clothes! He did give me a number to call to report any violation but they will only get there a day late and a dollar short .

Not enough wardens. I see people from Ga. who put in in Ga. and come down the river to Weiss, keep short fish and run back to Ga. where there is no size limit. I have talked to Game Warden and they said they were going to try to set up and check sometime. However with turkey season opening they will be stretched thin.

Nothing wrong with that as long as they are nice and quick. Never had a bad experience with the game warden, now the water patrol guys can be a pain sometimes. I've even been checked by the state troops on the water and they where nice.
