How will the full moon affect next weekends fishing? The creeks & sloughs are about 60 to 62 degrees right now where I live.
Jiggah thanked you for this post

Don't know where you are. The sloughs I fished yesterday were in the mid 50s. Female's eggs well developed but away to go before spawning. I Know it has a lot to do with amount of daylight hrs. water temp, night time air temps and yes moon phase. Old people always said when dogwoods bloom. I've found that to be pretty accurate. Bradford pairs are blooming here and my dogwoods have buds but no blooms yet

Went last evening for a couple of hours in a local lake which is 640 acres. The channel is at its deepest 35 feet.
fished in the north end of he lake in sloughs with flooded timber and caught several in 5' of water. The fish here are ready and I am sure some have already spawned. The water temp was 63 degrees.
Fished Millers Ferry last week and the fish are scattered. Some are already in the shallows while others still deep. Water temp was 61 degrees.
the males we caught were already dark.

Saturday the water temperature was 56 a daylight but was back up to 60 later in the evening. I'm thinking two weeks and it will be on.

Fished Logan Martin for a couple of hours yesterday in the Civic Center slough. Water temps there could only get to 57.6 degrees. Fished from 21 F.O.W to 6-10 F.O.W. Caught (1) male and he didn't have his tuxedo on. Watched a regular guide out of Lakeside Landing not do anything fishing his structure/cover in the same slough.
Thanks for your replies. I fished the full moon last month and did terrible. Was hoping for better success this weekend. Blessing!
A lot of the bigger fish here in GA have already went and spawned out. I have caught some already flat as a pancake. I have fished some creeks in the past week or so with 66 degree water temps.
fishing on full moon not what it's cracked up to be. Many times fish will feed all night and shut down in day. I hate full moons salt water fishing and try to schedule around them
Thanks for all the replies. I've not done well on full moons except for jugging catfish.
Footballcoach, I live in Greensboro, all I fish is the Black Warrior River and the Tombigbee.
I'm trying to become a jig fisherman. I am so impressed with the knowledge and wisdom of you guys.
I love reading about your techniques and reports about how you did yesterday.
Blessings everyone!!
