    Default Trip planning

Lord willing, I plan to fish Lay Lake this Monday or Tuesday. I'm going to be using a new setup I've never done before so I'll have 6 rods in the front on rodholders I made. I thought I would start over some of the old creek channel's coming out of the main river. Most of it is in 12-25' deep. I figured I'd spend a little time Marking baitfish and come back through the bait fish with my lines. This is new to me, but Im really interested and hopeful that I can put a few in the boat. I've attached a map of the area I'll be in, which is known as spring creek showing the channels in orange and the main river channel to the far right Any tips from the Pro's would be great. Oh yea, I'll be double rigging with live minnow on top and Roadrunner on the bottom.

Sounds like you plan to try some spider rigging. I'm not that good at it, but when you get into them it can get pretty crazy! Good luck, you plan of attack is sound, and should help you put a few in the boat. Remember to keep your baits above the fish, if you're below them you'll never get bit. Good Luck, let us know how you did.

I'm a long way from being a pro but this time of year lot of fish being caught suspended in coosa river channel. Not to say there not in creek channels but don't overlook the river channel. Hope u catch a bunch. Please leave a few for me as will be coming down in march.
