The wife and I decided to go ahead and "tool up" to better equip ourselves for our passion. Its a 2005 Triton 1756SC with a 2012 Yamaha 70 HP motor. Has a brand new MK 70 lb Maxxum. For electronics, a Helix 5 on the console and a HB 859CI HD up front. We could not be happier with this boat, which we purchased from another CDC member hailing from GA.
We took it out Sunday afternoon/evening and this evening. We had a great run on Sunday evening catching 30+ crappie - mostly young ones that were released. We kept those 10" or better. Tonight, we caught 15 or so and kept some decent eating fish.
Lake Tholocco is a small body lake with a relatively deep (20-28') creek channel running down the east side. We set up for spider rigging and some poles out the back using 1/8 ounce jigs - mostly used BG baits and all flavors seem to work. We caught the fish running across and over the channel ledge in about 10-14 FOW.
