Mr chuck, we have our central Alabama crappie club meeting tomorrow at bass pro Prattville, 630 upstairs. Come on by and see what you can learn. I will stop by your store and give you some pointers next time I am through town and have a little free time.

Chuckster. Camp asca is a good slough to spider rig. It's north of 280 bridge.

I think you are looking for a water temp rather than a calendar date and that will change every year. I like to be there a little early and be ready to greet the fish when this happens but I have learned from the more experienced guys (older) that you dont want to start fishing too early and be burnt out before they show up.

I start at 75. That is when the shad move back in. It takes a lot of cool evenings and nights to get to that point. So yeah late Sept. After rereading your post I realized you asked about Mitchell and Martin and I fish N. Alabama so there might be a difference.
