Default Kayak Trip Report, Flint River (Hobbs Island)

I fished the Flint River again this morning, putting in at Hobbs Island Road and heading up stream. Much slower day but still many small Crappie and gills. I kept half a limit of Crappie and five cats. Best bait was a 1/32oz beetle spin with a orange and brown body. Most of the Crappie came off the Rebel mini crankbait. The water was clear with visibility of about 18 inches and 76 degrees.

Looks like fun, I had my yak out yesterday with my wife. It was her maiden voyage in her new kayak.

Always great to see more kayak anglers.

You ever notice that you never see a kayak with the stereo too loud, drinking too much beer and being too loud and obnoxious like the other water fleas? Of course driving too fast and close to where your fishing in a kayak is never a problem.

Amen Ditch. You ever noticed your on one side of a channel (channel real big like in Decatur) but the other boats have to come near you, and the rest of the river is barren.

Yep, if they're in range of a shotgun full of rock salt, you should be able to use it, LOL!!
