Good report. Sounds like maybe I have been fishing in the wrong area.
Got a late start (7:30) and the wind was already blowing 90 to nothing. Started in the Big Bend area and caught three short fish before the wind ran me to a better protected slough. Water temp was 52 degrees and stained. Moved down river and started catching fish in 13 to 20 F.O.W. Used the Crayola method and put about every color in the box on six poles with double rigged 1/32 jigs. Southern Pro 1.5" Lit'l Hustler in Black/Yellow/White & Red/Yellow/White was the most consistent. Second best was Big Bite 2" Curly Tail in Black/ Chartreuse and Black/Purple/Chartreuse. Highest water temp I saw today was 56 degrees. Sweet spot seemed to be 13 - 16 F.O.W. Tried some skinny water but found nothing. Fished seemed to prefer speed from 1.0 to 1.4 and up to 30 mph wind made it a necessity. At the end of the day caught 25 crappie, three bass and a cat. All crappie were full of eggs and just waiting for the magic to happen. Kept a couple/three for a dinner for two and released the rest for future trips. They are ready to move up but afraid this weekends rain will push it back a little further.

Not bad my friend. It was very windy. The fish on Logan Martin are ready to move up. It's not going to get that cold I'm thinking it's going to happen any day now.
Wished I could take next week off from work!
Great report my friend. I am glad you were able to get a trip in and figure out something that worked so you could catch some fish. Our plans for next week are not looking any better, will let you know something soon as we make a decision.
